We’ve made supporting local children one focus of our work at Neighborhood Mediation Center. We partner with organizations that work with young populations that may not have the same resources, support, or opportunities as other populations. As these organizations work to close those opportunity gaps, we work to support them.

The services we offer these organizations vary, but they center around empowering people with tools for more effective communication. Ours is not a one-size-fits-all approach — when we partner with you, we learn about your organization’s needs relating to conflict and communication and then develop a customized program. 

So what does support from the Neighborhood Mediation Center look like? Broadly, our work can be categorized as conflict resolution, conflict management and de-escalation training, and conflict coaching. It may be coaching staff on how to have difficult conversations with parents about their children. It might be training a team on creating an environment where youth feel safe to speak their minds. It may center around workplace conflict and showing employees how to think through options to avoid conflict escalation. 

By supporting youth-focused organizations, we’re able to help them reach and support more kids, more effectively. And supported kids are better positioned to grow and thrive.
